The Nathanael Orphanage Center is located in Tulear (Toliara), a city of approximately 170,000 inhabitants in southwestern Madagascar. It has been managed since 2010 by two associations and currently cares for 103 children and young people.
The complex includes classrooms, dormitories, a dining hall, a kitchen, an infirmary, a library, an office, and a staff residence.
Two managing associations
- The Malagasy law association Les Enfants De Tuléar (E.D.T.): Under the direction of a Malagasy president, it brings together the original funders and owns the buildings. It employs 19 Malagasy staff members. A director manages daily operations.
- The French law association Nathanaël AF.B.S. (for Africa Brittany Solidarity): Its purpose is to receive sponsorship payments and donations in France and Europe. It supervises E.D.T.'s management and transfers all received payments to E.D.T., except for mandatory banking fees.
Volunteer managers from Nathanaël AF.B.S. regularly travel to Tulear to assist the local management, care for the children, and carry out specific missions.
Child admission
Before admitting a child to the Center, their family and personal situation is examined, with priority given to orphaned children or children from very disadvantaged families.
The children receive school and social education, practice sports and extracurricular activities, and learn basic hygiene rules. We provide them with all necessary material resources so they can develop in the best possible conditions.
The Orphanage Center grows regularly, with new admissions each school year. In the 2025–2026 school year, it welcomes and funds the education of 103 children and students thanks to all those who trust us by sponsoring a child or making a donation.
The goal is to enable each child at the Center to obtain educational and professional qualifications that will allow them to escape poverty.
