Two associations ensure the smooth running of the Nathanael Centre

  • The Malagasy law association Les Enfants De Tuléar (E.D.T.) brings together the people who funded the Centre at its creation. It is led by a volunteer Malagasy president.
  • The French law association Nathanaël AF.B.S. (for: Africa Brittany Solidarity), which had already been carrying out social activities in Tuléar since 2005, manages sponsorships and donations. Its longstanding presence in Madagascar enabled it to obtain tax-approved status, allowing donors in France to benefit from tax deductions on their gifts.

From July 2014 to the end of 2016, the Nathanael Centre was entirely managed by volunteer managers from Nathanaël AF.B.S. — Hervé Audaire, Anne-Marie Brunel, Jacqueline and Gérard d'Aimé, as well as Lyse and Eric Joire. They took turns to ensure a permanent volunteer presence at the Centre. This active involvement gave them an in-depth understanding of how E.D.T. operates and allowed them to better assess the financial needs required for its smooth running.

Since the appointment of a Malagasy director in 2016, the Nathanaël AF.B.S. volunteers no longer manage the Centre directly, but continue to support E.D.T.'s management. They oversee compliance with internal regulations and ensure that funds are used appropriately in accordance with the agreed budget.

The current members of the AF.B.S. association (Africa Brittany Solidarity) are:

Member Role
Gérard d'Aimé President of Nathanaël AF.B.S. and statutory auditor of E.D.T. Responsible for managing funds collected in France, overseeing the Centre's accounts, and guaranteeing sound financial management since the Centre's founding.
Hery Rasandratana Vice-President and head of the academic guidance committee.
Anne-Marie Brunel Treasurer. Consolidates and audits E.D.T.'s accounts. Carries out on-site checks during her annual visit to the Centre and submits a report to the President.
Hervé Audaire Property manager for E.D.T. and representative of Nathanaël AF.B.S. to E.D.T.
Jacqueline d'Aimé Secretary. Manages the tracking of sponsorships and donations and issues annual tax receipts.
Bénédicte Radal Assists the secretary, with a view to taking over part of the administrative duties in 2027.
Lyse Joire Point of contact for sponsorships and communications between children and their sponsors.
Eric Joire Doctor. Provides medical follow-up at the Centre during his stays in Tuléar.
Frédérique d'Aimé Handles all communications.
Bernard Labarde Association member.

The diverse and complementary skills of each member are what make Nathanaël AF.B.S. so strong. It is a small but dynamic association, committed to the sound management of all funds received. Having a dedicated representative from Nathanaël AF.B.S. within E.D.T. ensures strong synergy between the two organisations.
